PARTICIPATION OF THE DELEGATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN IN THE 55TH UN STATISTICAL COMMISSION

The delegation of the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, led by the Director of the Agency for Statistics , Jamshed Nurmuhammadzoda, is participating in the 55th session of the UN Statistical Commission, which is going from February 27 to March 1 this year in New York, USA.

The UN Statistical Commission is considered the highest body of the international statistical system, and annually at its meetings global standards for the collection, analysis and dissemination of statistical data are discussed and approved. At this meeting, reports will be discussed on thefundamental principles of official statistics, indicators of the Sustainable Development Goals and existing problems, the system of national accounts, sources and new methods of collecting statistical data, especially the use of big data.

It is expected that during the next high-level meeting, the first heads of state statistics bodies will discuss the achievements and development of the national statistical system with the involvement of development partners, the use of modern methods and technologies, and the transition to electronic reporting. integration of databases with other ministries and departments, as well as collection and presentation of reports, import of data from other new sources of official statistics, exchange of experience and discussion of existing problems.

On the first day of the session, the Director of the Agency for Statistics presented a report on the topic “Fundamental principles of official statistics”; the delegation of Tajikistan is expected to present its official reports on other topics.
