EXTENDED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF THE AGENCY ON STATISTICS

On April 13, 2026, an extended meeting of the Board was held at the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to review the performance of the state statistical bodies for the first quarter of 2026 and to define tasks for the remainder of the year. The meeting was attended by the Agency’s leadership, heads of departments and divisions of the central office, as well as heads of local statistical bodies.

The meeting was opened by the Director of the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Jamshed Nurmakhmadzoda, who emphasized that the results of the activities of statistical bodies during the reporting period should be subject to comprehensive and in-depth analysis, and that effective measures should be taken to eliminate existing shortcomings and further improve the quality of statistical work.

Subsequently, Deputy Director of the Agency on Statistics, Mirzoyon Nodir Ramazoni, delivered a detailed report on the results of the activities of the state statistical bodies for the first quarter of 2026, highlighting achievements, existing challenges, and priority directions for the further development of the statistical system.

During the meeting, heads of the Agency’s main departments in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, regions, as well as departments and divisions of statistical bodies in districts of republican subordination presented reports on their activities. The Agency’s leadership provided them with specific instructions and practical recommendations to further enhance the level and quality of data collection, processing, and analysis.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was emphasized that the focus of statistical bodies should remain on ensuring the timeliness, accuracy, and reliability of statistical data, strict adherence to the established methodology, and improving the professionalism and responsibility of staff.

The Director of the Agency instructed the heads of local statistical bodies to take additional measures to improve reporting practices, strengthen control over data quality, and ensure the effective use of modern information technologies.
