Wholesale and Retail Trade Turnover and Vehicle Repair in Tajikistan Reached 66.9 Billion Somoni

In January–September 2026, the volume of wholesale and retail trade turnover and vehicle repair in the Republic of Tajikistan amounted to 66 billion 940.9 million somoni. According to statistical data, compared with the same period in 2025, this indicator increased by 22 percent, or 7 billion 551.8 million somoni, at comparable prices. The price index during this period stood at 103.8 percent.

Growth in retail trade turnover and vehicle repair is considered one of the important indicators of the performance of the country’s domestic market. During the reporting period, the total volume of retail trade turnover and vehicle repair reached 59 billion 159.5 million somoni, representing an increase of 28.2 percent compared with January–September of the previous year.

In the structure of retail trade, sales of various goods account for a significant share, including food products, everyday necessities and other goods. In particular, goods worth 40 billion 462.9 million somoni were sold at food markets, non-food and mixed-goods markets, and other markets.

Furthermore, in January–September 2026, sales of live livestock amounted to 5 billion 564.2 million somoni, while sales of cars, motorcycles and their spare parts totalled 2 billion 593.7 million somoni. The volume of technical maintenance and vehicle repair services amounted to 411.5 million somoni.

The regional distribution of wholesale and retail trade turnover and vehicle repair shows that the largest shares were accounted for by the city of Dushanbe, Khatlon Region and Sughd Region. Specifically, the share of Dushanbe was 29.6 percent, Khatlon Region accounted for 28.8 percent, and Sughd Region accounted for 28 percent.
