Tajikistan Maintains Strong Growth in Trade Turnover and Paid Services

Dushanbe, June 2026. According to official statistics, the total wholesale and retail trade turnover, including motor vehicle repair services, amounted to TJS 35.67 billion during January–May 2026. Compared with the same period of 2025, the volume increased by 24.3% in real terms, equivalent to an increase of TJS 7.10 billion.

The significant growth in trade turnover reflects the continued expansion of business activity, the development of the domestic consumer market, and rising demand for goods and services.

During the same period, the turnover of food service activities, including hotel and restaurant services, reached TJS 2.00 billion, representing an increase of 52.7% compared with January–May 2025. This growth indicates the continued development of the service sector, increased tourism activity, and the expansion of hospitality and catering businesses.

The total value of paid services provided across all sectors of the economy amounted to TJS 12.99 billion during January–May 2026, representing a 9.0% increase in real terms compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. The services price index stood at 106.1%.

Of the total volume of services provided, TJS 9.10 billion, or 70.1%, consisted of paid services delivered directly to the population, highlighting the growing importance of the service sector in meeting household demand and supporting national economic development.

These indicators confirm the continued positive performance of Tajikistan’s domestic market, trade, and service sectors, and their significant contribution to the country’s socio-economic development during the first five months of 2026.
