PRESS CONFERENCE AT THE STATISTICS AGENCY

On February 9, the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan held a press conference with the participation of representatives of mass media.

According to the agenda, the Director of the Statistics Agency, Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda, presented a report to journalists on the activities of the state statistical authorities of the Republic of Tajikistan in 2025 and the objectives through the end of 2026. During the conference, an informational briefing on the socio-economic indicators of the Republic of Tajikistan was also delivered.

Representatives of the mass media raised the following sector-related questions:

• the number of fines imposed by statistical authorities;
• vegetable prices and the reasons for their increase;
• migration statistics and the amount of remittances sent;
• household budget survey statistics;
• information on the standard of living of the population;
• statistics on cotton production and its price in the country;
• statistics on vodka production and its consumption;
• livestock statistics in the country and the volume of meat production; reasons for high meat prices;
• potato prices;
• pharmaceutical production statistics;
• statistics on fast-food outlets.

Specific answers were provided by the leadership of the Statistics Agency to the questions raised by media representatives concerning matters within the Agency’s competence, and the journalists expressed satisfaction with the responses given.
