Passenger Transportation in Tajikistan Increased by Nearly 10 Percent in the First Nine Months of 2026

During the first nine months of 2026, a total of 914 million 95.9 thousand passengers were transported by all modes of transport in the Republic of Tajikistan, representing an increase of 9.9 percent compared with the same period last year. This indicates an increase in the volume of transport services and highlights the important role of the sector in ensuring the mobility of the population.

Land transport occupies the leading position in the country’s passenger transportation structure. According to statistical data, this mode of transport accounts for 99.9 percent of the total volume of passenger transportation. This figure reflects the key role of land transport in ensuring the population’s daily travel and access to various services.

During the reporting period, 896 million 640.1 thousand passengers were transported by road, including transport operated by ministries and departments, enterprises and organizations of various forms of ownership, as well as individual entrepreneurs. This figure increased by 10 percent compared with January–September of the previous year.

The growth in passenger transportation by road highlights the importance of this mode of transport within the country’s transport service system.
