PARTICIPATION OF THE DIRECTOR OF THE AGENCY FOR STATISTICS IN AN INTERNATIONAL FORUM IN BISHKEK

On April 23, 2026, the Director of the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Nurmakhmadzoda Jamshed, participated and delivered a speech at a ceremonial event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the statistical bodies of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as at the international forum titled “Modernization of Statistical Business Processes: Building a New Ecosystem of Official Statistics,” held at the state residence “Ala-Archa-1” in Bishkek.

During the event, it was emphasized that statistical bodies, as key state institutions, play a crucial role in the formation and development of the national statistical system, contributing significantly to providing government authorities and society with reliable, accurate, and timely data. Participants of the forum from various countries, along with representatives of international organizations, particularly highlighted the importance of expanding interstate cooperation and the role of official statistics in ensuring sustainable socio-economic development.

The international forum brought together high-level representatives from the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States, as well as representatives of the United Nations, the World Bank, and other reputable international institutions. Within its framework, key issues related to the further development of official statistics systems, digitalization of statistical processes, application of modern technologies including artificial intelligence, and the integration of new data sources were thoroughly discussed.

Nurmakhmadzoda Jamshed delivered a presentation at the third session of the forum titled “Integration of New Data Sources: The Role of E-commerce in Shaping a Modern National Statistical System,” where he shared Tajikistan’s experience in introducing alternative data sources, particularly leveraging the potential of e-commerce. The country’s practical achievements and priority directions for further development of the national statistical system were also presented.

In addition, productive bilateral and multilateral meetings were held on the sidelines of the forum with heads of statistical agencies from participating countries and representatives of international organizations. These meetings addressed issues related to expanding international cooperation, exchanging best practices, and implementing joint projects in the field of official statistics.

Participation in such high-level events contributes to strengthening the position of national statistical authorities in the international arena, expanding regional cooperation, and introducing modern approaches to managing statistical processes.
