Meeting of the Director of the Agency on Statistics with the EU Ambassador to the Republic of Tajikistan

On April 28, 2026, a meeting was held in Dushanbe between the Director of the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Jamshid Nurmahmadzoda, and the Ambassador – Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Radosław Darski.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Director congratulated Mr. Darski on his appointment to this responsible position and wished him success in his future activities.

During the discussion, the parties highly appreciated the current level of bilateral cooperation and emphasized the important role of the European Union as one of the key development partners in supporting institutional reforms and strengthening national capacity.

It was noted that within the framework of mutually beneficial cooperation, particularly under the project “Quality Education Support Programme II,” financed by the European Union with the support of the World Bank, the Labour Force Survey was successfully conducted in 2025. The second round of this survey is planned for 2026.

The meeting also addressed prospects for expanding cooperation in priority areas of statistics, including conducting statistical surveys in the services sector, studying and implementing best practices of EU countries, introducing modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, and using alternative data sources.

At the end of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their readiness to further strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation.
