INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION IS DEVELOPING IN TAJIKISTAN’S FREE ECONOMIC ZONES

From January to September 2026, the production of industrial goods, the provision of services, and the implementation of construction works continued in the free economic zones of the Republic of Tajikistan, with an increase in production volumes recorded in some zones.

According to statistical data, 24 industrial enterprises operated in the Sughd Free Economic Zone, located in the city of Khujand and covering an area of 320 hectares. The volume of industrial production in this zone reached 483 million 615.4 thousand somoni, which is 15.8 percent higher than in the same period of 2025 at comparable prices.

Various types of industrial products are manufactured in this zone, including plastic pipes, electrical cables, plastic profiles for doors and windows, construction paints, plastic containers for storing fresh fruit, and other products. At the same time, during the reporting period, three entities provided paid services worth 3 million 878.7 thousand somoni, while one entity carried out construction and contracting works worth 476.9 thousand somoni.

In the Danghara Free Economic Zone, located in Danghara District of Khatlon Region, nine industrial enterprises operated during the reporting period and produced goods worth 102 million 175.3 thousand somoni. In addition, the volume of construction works carried out in this zone from January to July 2026 amounted to 49 million 363.2 thousand somoni.

Alongside industrial production, paid services worth 1 million 983.8 thousand somoni and transport services worth 6 million 333.8 thousand somoni were provided in this zone.

In the Panj Free Economic Zone, located in Jayhun District of Khatlon Region, two of the six registered industrial enterprises produced goods during the reporting period. In particular, the production volume of Fon Daryo CJSC amounted to 5 million 78 thousand somoni, while that of Burok-2 LTD LLC amounted to 257 thousand somoni.

In the Kulob Free Economic Zone, located in the city of Kulob in Khatlon Region, Tajik Almos LLC was the only enterprise among the 13 registered industrial enterprises to produce goods during the reporting period, with a production value of 338.1 thousand somoni. At the same time, construction works worth 11 million 443 thousand somoni were carried out in this zone.

In the Ishkoshim Free Economic Zone, located in Ishkoshim District of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, construction works worth 1 million 600.8 thousand somoni were completed from January to September 2026, while the volume of industrial production amounted to 8.7 thousand somoni.

The activities of these zones create a foundation for the development of domestic production, the creation of new jobs, the attraction of domestic and foreign investment, and the expansion of the country’s economic opportunities.
