A ceremonial gathering dedicated to the 31st anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of Tajikistan was held at the Agency for Statistics

The Day of the Adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan, which played a crucial role in the formation and development of the new Tajik state, is one of the greatest achievements of the era of independence of our beloved country.

This was noted during the ceremonial gathering held at the Agency for Statistics on the occasion of Constitution Day of the Republic of Tajikistan, attended by Deputy Director Zarina Nazarzoda and the Agency’s staff.

Deputy Director of the Agency for Statistics, Zarina Nazarzoda, stated that the purpose of the gathering was to show respect and reverence for national values, to uphold the rule of law, to strengthen human rights and freedoms, and to raise the legal awareness of citizens.

“The Constitution, as the most important factor in ensuring national independence and the unity of the country, guarantees the immutability of the republican form of government, territorial integrity, and the democratic, legal, secular, and social nature of the state, while recognizing the people of Tajikistan as the sole source of state power,” said Zarina Nazarzoda.

The participants of the event emphasized that the Constitution, on one hand, laid the legal foundation for the development of a democratic state and the creation of an effective system of public administration, and on the other hand, created favorable conditions for peace, stability, and national unity throughout the country.

Upon adopting its first Constitution, the people of independent Tajikistan declared freedom and human rights as sacred, made the building of a just society their mission, and defined the fundamental principles of civil society. The adoption of the Constitution by the free will of the proud people of the country reflected the advanced legal culture and progressive worldview of the Tajik nation. This historic and fateful document embodies the highest interests of our nation and independent state, becoming a key factor in ensuring the stability of the political life of society.
