Gross Agricultural Output Increased in the First Half of 2026

In January–June 2026, the total gross agricultural output produced by all categories of farms in the country amounted to TJS 28.8313 billion, representing an increase of 7.2% in comparable prices compared to the same period of the previous year.

Of the total agricultural output, TJS 18.2674 billion was generated by the crop production sector, which recorded a 5.0% increase. At the same time, the livestock sector produced output valued at TJS 10.5639 billion, representing an 11.1% increase compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. The relatively high growth rate of livestock production indicates that this sector remains one of the main drivers of overall agricultural output growth.

An analysis of the production structure by category of farms shows that 52.8% of total agricultural output was produced by household farms. In particular, this share amounted to 94.4% in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), 51.4% in Sughd Region, 51.6% in Khatlon Region, and 57.4% in the Districts of Republican Subordination.

During the same period, the share of dehkan (farmer) farms in total agricultural output accounted for 31.1%, maintaining their position as one of the country’s main agricultural producers.

The share of collective agricultural enterprises in total agricultural production amounted to 16.1%. By region, this indicator stood at 22.0% in Sughd Region, 15.0% in Khatlon Region, 11.0% in the Districts of Republican Subordination, and 2.6% in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO).
