Industrial Growth Rate of the Country Reached 22.1 Percent in 2025

In 2025, industrial enterprises in Tajikistan, together with private entrepreneurs, produced goods worth 66.7261 billion somoni, which is 13.3 billion somoni higher compared to the same period in 2024. The growth rate, calculated at comparable prices, reached 122.1 percent.

Industry remains one of the most important drivers for addressing socio-economic challenges, with its share in gross domestic product steadily increasing each year. As stated by the Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, in his latest Address to the Majlisi Oli:
“In order to achieve one of the strategic national goals—accelerated industrialization of the country—during the implementation period (2019–2025), that is, over the past seven years, more than 2,600 industrial enterprises have been constructed and put into operation, creating over 87,000 jobs.
In particular, 400 manufacturing enterprises commenced operations in 2025.”

The Leader of the Nation also emphasized that the measures undertaken to promote accelerated industrialization have made it possible to increase industrial output by 2.5 times over the past seven years, reaching 66 billion somoni in 2025.

According to official data, the main contributors to industrial growth in 2025 were increases in:

  • mining and quarrying — 36.2 percent,
  • manufacturing — 10.5 percent,
  • electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply — over 13 percent,
  • water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities — 22.8 percent.

The consistent implementation of industrial development measures contributed to increased industrial output across the regions of the republic. In 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, industrial growth rates amounted to:

  • 123.5 percent in Sughd Region,
  • 111.1 percent in Khatlon Region,
  • 125.7 percent in the city of Dushanbe,
  • 111.8 percent in districts under republican subordination, and
  • 104.8 percent in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.

During the reporting period, 3,972 production workshops and enterprises were in operation, including:

  • 362 units in mining and quarrying,
  • 3,437 units in manufacturing,
  • 72 units in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply, and
  • 101 units in water supply and waste management.
