TAJIKISTAN’S DOMESTIC TRADE TURNOVER REACHED 52.8 BILLION SOMONI

Trade turnover plays an important role in the country’s monetary circulation and the strengthening of the national currency, as cash flow is closely linked to trade services, especially retail trade.
Thus, in the first nine months of the current year, the volume of wholesale and retail trade, as well as vehicle repair services in Tajikistan, amounted to 52.8 billion somoni, which is 12.1% higher compared to the same period last year (price index — 103.7%).

During this period, retail trade and vehicle repair increased by 12.1%.
The total volume of retail trade and vehicle repair reached 44.4 billion somoni, with food, industrial, and mixed markets accounting for 40.8% of total retail turnover, amounting to 18.1 billion somoni.

During this period, the following goods were sold:

• live livestock — 4.8 billion somoni,
• automobiles, motorcycles, and spare parts — 1.6 billion somoni,
• petroleum products — 8.1 billion somoni,
• other goods — 11.2 billion somoni.

The volume of services provided by enterprises for vehicle maintenance and repair amounted to 468.6 million somoni.
On average, per capita retail trade and vehicle repair turnover was 4,367.8 somoni during this period.

The largest share of wholesale and retail trade, as well as vehicle repair, falls on Dushanbe city (30.1%) and Sughd Region (28.7%).
