In 2025, the country’s gross domestic product reached 173 billion somoni, with real economic growth amounting to 8.4 percent. This was stated today by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, in his Address to the Majlisi Oli entitled “On the Main Directions of the Domestic and Foreign Policy of the Republic.”
The Head of State emphasized the need to ensure that the growth rate of the national economy in 2026 is not less than 8 percent, and to maintain the stability of macroeconomic indicators in the following years.
The President recalled that over the past ten years, during the implementation of two medium-term development programs covering the intermediate stages of the “National Development Strategy for the Period up to 2030,” many important and effective measures were carried out to achieve strategic goals and improve the living standards and quality of life of the population. As a result, the volume of gross domestic product increased 3.4 times, while the national economy grew by an average of 7.6 percent annually.
The Leader of the Nation noted that during this period, GDP per capita increased 2.7 times, from 6,000 somoni in 2015 to 16.4 thousand somoni in 2025. In 2025, the Medium-Term Development Program of the country for 2026–2030 was adopted as the final stage of the “National Development Strategy for the Period up to 2030.”
In this regard, the President instructed the Government of the Republic, ministries and agencies, as well as executive bodies of state authority, to ensure the achievement of development priorities and the timely and full implementation of the “Medium-Term Development Program for 2026–2030.”
