Compliance with National Legislation Requirements Explained at the Agency of Statistics

Compliance with the requirements of national legislation, including the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On the Regulation of Traditions, Celebrations and Ceremonies in the Republic of Tajikistan,” is the civic responsibility of each of us. Observance of legal provisions, along with rejection of prejudice and superstition, contributes to the development of the national economy and the well-being of society.

This was stated by Deputy Director of the Agency of Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zarina Nazarzoda, at an event organized by the Agency to explain national laws — “On the Regulation of Traditions, Celebrations and Ceremonies in the Republic of Tajikistan” and “On Responsibility for the Education and Upbringing of a Child.” The event aimed to strengthen awareness-raising efforts to enhance patriotism, national identity, and respect for national and cultural values.

The meeting was held with the participation of a representative of the Committee for Religious Affairs, Regulation of Traditions, Celebrations and Ceremonies under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, Burhoniddin Abdulazizzoda.

It was emphasized that preserving and respecting ancestral traditions is necessary; however, they must be conducted in accordance with contemporary requirements in order to prevent extravagance, ostentation, and unfounded display.

It was noted that the purpose of the event was also to explain the laws adopted in a new version, their differences from previous versions, as well as amendments and additions to the Code of Administrative Offenses and the Criminal Code related to non-compliance with these laws.

In his speech, the Committee representative stated that the purpose of the national law is to protect the social interests of the people of Tajikistan, contribute to poverty reduction, and prevent excessive expenses that cause serious harm to the economic interests and moral environment of citizens’ lives. The law is also aimed at ensuring citizens’ rights and freedoms and maintaining public order.

It was emphasized that the Law of the Republic of Tajikistan “On the Regulation of Traditions, Celebrations and Ceremonies in the Republic of Tajikistan,” in line with the development of society, regulates the conduct of celebrations and ceremonies, and is aimed at preserving the authentic values of national culture and respect for folk traditions, as well as improving the socio-economic standard of living of citizens of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Additionally, specialists delivered reports on the activities of the Public Commission overseeing compliance with national legislation within statistical bodies, as well as on expanding beautification and development initiatives and strengthening national self-awareness and identity.
