A Meeting on countering terrorism and extremism was held at the Statistics Agency

On February 5, a meeting dedicated to issues of countering terrorism and extremism was held at the Agency on Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan with the participation of the Agency’s management and staff.

Employees of the Statistics Department of the city of Vahdat also took part in the meeting.

During the meeting, it was stated that extremism and terrorism are among the most serious global challenges of our time and require the attention not only of a single state or region, but of the entire international community. In this regard, positive results can be achieved only through cooperation and integration among a wide range of states as well as regional and international organizations.

Deputy Director of the Statistics Agency, Nodir Mirzoён, emphasized that terrorism and extremism remain pressing issues for the Republic of Tajikistan and the global community, as these phenomena primarily harm human rights and freedoms, as well as the security and stability of countries around the world. Therefore, in modern conditions, special attention is paid to countering extremism and terrorism and reducing the level of their occurrence. Measures to combat extremism and terrorism are provided for in the legislation of almost all countries of the world.

It was noted that today the Republic of Tajikistan has established all the necessary legal frameworks to counter extremism and terrorism, and members of society are called upon to strengthen the fight against these negative phenomena in cooperation with state authorities in order to maintain the security and stability of our society and state.

In this context, young people are urged to remain vigilant and cautious, avoid idleness and wasting time, and actively engage in learning languages and acquiring professional skills to ensure a достойное (decent) life in the future. They should never believe false calls from foreign forces, contribute to the development and prosperity of their homeland, and become worthy sons and daughters of their people and nation.

Participants exchanged views on legislative, scientific, and practical issues related to countering extremism and terrorism.
