INDUSTRIAL OUTPUT REACHED 40.2 BILLION SOMONI

In the first eight months of 2025, industrial enterprises of Tajikistan, together with private entrepreneurs, produced goods worth 40.2815 billion somoni, which is 9.5 billion somoni more compared to the same period of the previous year. The growth rate, adjusted for comparable prices, was 23.5 percent.

The industrial sector is a key factor in addressing the country’s socio-economic challenges, and its share in the gross domestic product is steadily increasing year by year. According to officials, the main drivers of growth in the industrial sector during this period were:

• a 1.7-times increase in mining production,
• a 6.1% increase in manufacturing,
• an 11% increase in electricity, gas, steam supply and air conditioning,
• a 7.5% increase in water supply, waste treatment, and recycling.

The phased implementation of measures aimed at industrial development has contributed to the growth of industrial production across the regions of the republic. Thus, in January–August 2025, the industrial growth rates were:

• Sughd region – 133.5% compared to the same period last year,
• Khatlon region – 106.1%,
• Dushanbe city – 120.6%,
• Districts under republican subordination – 113.6%,
• Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) – 106.4%.

In the structure of total industrial output, the leading shares were:

• Sughd region – 60.9%,
• Khatlon region – 19.6%.

According to the source, during the reporting period, a total of 3,912 production facilities were operational, including:

• 353 in the mining sector,
• 3,384 in manufacturing,
• 72 in electricity, gas, steam supply and air purification,
• 103 in water supply and waste processing.
