STATISTICS AGENCY HELD A PRESS CONFERENCE

On August 6, the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan held a press conference with the participation of Firdavs Muqaddaszoda, a representative of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, and representatives of the mass media.

During the press conference, journalists were presented with an informational report on the activities of the statistical bodies in the first half of 2025, upcoming tasks, and key indicators of the socio-economic situation in the Republic of Tajikistan.

The Director of the Statistics Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Jamshed Nurmuhammadzoda, delivered a detailed report on the results of the statistical agencies’ activities in 2025, as well as future plans and objectives.

The Director also provided journalists with specific answers to questions related to the field of statistics.

The following sector-related questions were raised by media representatives:

– the main export goods in the first half of 2025;
– existing challenges in the process of collecting statistical data;
– the use of modern technologies and innovations in the national statistical system;
– the issue of shortage of statistical specialists in rural communities and the staffing measures taken in this regard;
– the labor force survey and its results;
– cooperation between statistical bodies and universities to increase staffing from among graduates;
– areas of cooperation with statistical agencies of other countries;
– labor migration by regions;
– financial statistics: deposits and issued loans;
– demographic statistics of the city of Dushanbe and the reasons for the low natural population growth in the city;
– birth statistics;
– the number of letters sent and returned.

The leadership of the Statistics Agency provided specific answers to the questions raised by media representatives regarding matters within the agency’s competence.
