Board of the Agency on Statistics
On January 10, 2018, the Agency on statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan held an extended meeting of the Board "On Results of Performance of State Statistical Agencies of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period of 2017 and further tasks and challenges for the period of 2018" with the participation of the Agency s management, divisions and departments of the central offices, the Main Computing Center, the Main Departments of Statistics of the Regions, Dushanbe, the Departments of Statistics of Rayons of Republican Subordination.
 
The Board was also participated by the Head of the Department for Strategic Planning and Reform of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Yusuf Majidi, representatives of the ministries: economic development and trade, agriculture, energy and water resources, public health and social protection, industry and new technologies, education and science, as well as representatives from the Tax Committee, the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management, the State Committee on land management and geodesy and customs service.
 
The meeting was opened by the Director of the Agency on statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Ms. Hasanzoda Gulnora Kenja who noted that the statistical bodies guided by the Message of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Leader of the Nation, the respected Emomali Rahmon, Majlisi Oli; orders, instructions, as well as Decrees of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on statistics performed a program of statistical works for 2017.
 
First Deputy Director of the Agency on statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Shokirzoda Sh. Sh. presented a detailed report on the main directions of work of statistical bodies in 2017 and tasks for period of 2018. During the year, more than 9,800 statistical works were submitted, as well as 13 sample statistical surveys were conducted in accordance with the Statistical Work Program.
As a result of the surveys on water users and labor force within the framework of the Project "Implementation of the National Strategy for the Development of Statistics" the analytical reports were prepared and submitted.
 
During 2017 there have been received 103 decrees, 575 instructions from the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and 1528 letters from ministries and departments, 516 letters from local statistical offices and 248 letters by e-mail to which the responses were provided in time.
 
The information was regularly prepared on all sectors of the economy and social area, including analytical reports, digests and statistical information was timely provided to consumers.
 
More than 10 thousand of statistical works is stipulated under the program of statistical works for the period of 2018. In addition, 68 digests and bulletins will be published.
The reports of statistical agencies for 2017 and further tasks were read at the Board at the republican and oblast levels and Dushanbe. 
 
In his speech, the Head of the Department for Strategic Planning and Reforms of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Yusuf Majidi gave the assessment of the performance of statistical bodies. He also noted that it is needed to the statistical bodies to take additional measures to transit to electronic reporting and e-government.
 
Representatives of other ministries and departments also spoke during the meeting.
Director of the Agency on statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Ms. Hasanzoda Gulnora Kenja expressed her deep gratitude to all the guests for their participation and close cooperation.
 
The management of the Agency on statistics with the view to further improve the quality of statistics has set specific tasks for statistical bodies, including the timely provision of reliable statistical data and the avoidance of data distortions when mainatining the statistical reporting.
