Statistical Agency conducted first interdepartmental Statistical Council meeting

The interdepartmental Statistical Council under the Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan was approved by the President of Republic of Tajikistan decree dated June 16 , 2010 No.883 and it is an advisory body to coordinate activities in the sphere of state statistical observations based on scientifically grounded statistical methodology. (Total 13 organizations and 28 people).

Meeting of the interdepartmental Statistical Council was opened by the Statistical Agency Director under the President of Republic of Tajikistan, Council Chairman Mrs. Mukhammadieva B.Z. Mrs. Mukhammadieva B.Z. focused on the importance of Council creation that will improve activity coordination in sphere of State statistical supervision and will support in the State statistics work and other organizations, irrespective from their organizational and legal forms. Moreover, Mrs. Mukhammadieva B.Z underlined that the Council work will be based on principles approved by statistical bodies of European countries.

During the meeting two main resolutions have been adopted. Resolution on «Transition from National Classification of Business Activities (NCBA 1976),to Common Classification of Economic Activity (CCEA 1999)» and «About preparation process in conducting agricultural census». During the meeting council members discussed the resolution which was adopted unanimously by all Council members.

Summarizing the results, Council Chairman Mrs. Mukhammadieva B.Z expressed the general opinion of all the meeting participants’ on the necessity of future fruitful cooperation to solve difficult questions concerning the provision of quality statistical data and appealed to all Ministries and Agencies for a close cooperation in future.
