Training workshop on "Implementation of the 2008 SNA changes that affect the calculation of GDP", June 30 - July 4, 2014, Astana, Kazakhstan

At the meetings of the UN Statistical Commission, UN Regional Commissions for Europe, Asia and the Pacific, taking into account changes in global world, accepted tasks and obligations. One of the key objectives is transition to the System of National Accounts 2008. In order to implement the 2008 SNA international organizations, particularly the International Monetary Fund, World Bank, Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, statistical service of the world raised the initiative to support this work.

The next event on implementation SNA - 2008 held in Astana Republic of Kazakhstan with the initiative and support of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific, United Nations Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific, the Federal Statistical Service of Russia, Agency on Statistics of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The training workshop was attended by representatives of statistical offices of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Afghanistan, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

On the first day, representatives of the Agency for Statistics under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan made a presentation on "Action Plan for the implementation of the SNA 2008 in Tajikistan."
Based on the experience of participants, expert advice financial and economic institutions, in particular the International Monetary Fund, the United Nations Statistics experts, in terms of action to implement the SNA - 2008 will be amended accordingly, and then will be sent to the review and approval of the ministries and departments.
It should be noted that the action plan should be designed as a legal act and implementing its action should be monitored.
