An enlarged meeting of the board was held in the Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on January 1, 2014. The Agency management, the representatives of the executive office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the representatives of ministries and departments of the republic, the heads of the main statistical offices of oblasts and the city of Dushanbe, the heads of statistical offices from districts of republican subordination (DRS), the heads of departments and sections of the head office and ‘Main computing center’ participated in the meeting.
The meeting heard Report "On the work undertaken by the state statistical offices of Tajikistan for 2013 and tasks for 2014". It was noted that guided by Orders, recommendations and the Message of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the decrees of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan on socio-economic programs the statistical work and tasks for 2013 were performed. Totally, 9427 statistical services were rendered; in addition during 2013 the Agency received 124 Decrees and 284 orders of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, 1048 letters from ministries and departments, which were timely responded.
As for the analysis and monitoring of multidirectional subject matter and regional programs, the information was regularly provided, statistical reports were produced and collections were developed for the users of statistical information. It was emphasized that in this direction interconnected effective cooperation with ministries and departments was established, which will continue in the future.
The meeting heard the reports on the work undertaken by the state statistical offices for 2013 and future tasks for 2014 at the oblast and Dushanbe level. Director of the Statistical Agency Hasanova G.K. set specific goals and recommendations to further improve the quality and level of activity.
It was noted that appropriate measures were taken to implement the state policy of "e-government" development. Creation, renovation and improvement of online information systems and the use of modern information technologies for statistical work within existing internal resources, projects to strengthen the national statistical system were provided with the direct support of the development partners – international institutions.
It was emphasized that in 2013 the agricultural census was conducted in the Republic of Tajikistan for the first time; other activities related to the census data processing and obtaining the results of the census were implemented as envisaged by the org.plan.
A number of issues related to the quality performance of the statistical work, timeliness and accuracy of statistical information characterizing the socio-economic development of the country, adherence to the existing methodology, formation of official statistics and use of international standards and methodologies in the national statistical system, implementation of the recommendations of the global assessment report, which was conducted by the Statistics Division of the UNECE (Eurostat) were also considered.
