A Round table regarding "The 2010 population and housing census main results" was held on August 13, 2013. The round table was conducted with the financial support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in the Republic of Tajikistan and attended by the representatives of the relevant ministries and agencies, and the media.
The UNFPA representatives, in particular the UNFPA Country Director (Werner Haug), the Regional Director (Carl Kulesa), the UNFPA representative in the Republic of Tajikistan and the representatives of other international organizations in the country participated in the meeting.
Mrs. Mukhammadieva B.Z., the Director of the Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, summed up the results of the population and housing census in her speech, and assessed the results obtained for the further development of the country. She briefly described the publication of the census results and gave a recommendation for their further analysis and use in different industries.
Mr. Warner Haug, the UNFPA Country Director, in his speech made a note of the need and subject matter of the census and socio-economic significance of the results of such a large statistical survey as a population and housing census.
Mrs. Ismoilova Z.D., the Head of the Agency, made presentations regarding "The results of the 2010 population and housing census of the Republic of Tajikistan" and "Methodology and publication of the population and housing census results" to demonstrate the analysis of the obtained main figures based on population and housing census against the 2000 census results.
Mr. Mirpochchoev F. also made a presentation regarding "Dissemination of the 2010 population and housing census data through a Censusinfo program"; the process of using this program based on specific examples was demonstrated.
In the end of the meeting there was a discussion of the 2010 population and housing census figures in the form of questions and answers.
