Training seminar on pilot agricultural census in Sarband, Khatlon oblast
Training seminar for the staff of statistical offices of the republic and temporary employees involved in the pilot agricultural census was conducted in Sarband, Khatlon oblast, on October 12-13, 2012.
The seminar was opened by Bakhtiya Ziyodulloyevna Mukhammadieva, the Director of the Statistical Agency. She addressed all participants to take an active part in this event. It was stated that agricultural census is very important and conducted for the first time in the Republic of Tajikistan. In this regard, the pilot agricultural census questionnaire includes questions concerning the economic activity of public and dekhkan farms in the sphere of agriculture, household plots and presidential land for farm population.
Abdulloev Mutalib, the head of the department for agricultural statistics and environmental protection, provided information on the content of the agricultural census, on performance of preparatory activity for conducting the agricultural census in the republic, districts and cities/towns.
Full information with concrete and clear examples on the way to fill out Questionnaires 1-AC and 2-AC and the instruction on how to fill the questionnaires in the field was provided by the staff of the Agency central office.
Temporary employees engaged in the agricultural census received irrefragable answers to their questions.
Interviewers, supervisors, heads of census departments received specific jobs and obtained lists of households which are covered by the census. It was established that responsible persons of public and dekhkan farms, part-time farms of the ministries, departments, enterprises and organizations should complete the questionnaires.
The representatives of the Ministry of economic development and trade and the Ministry agriculture also participated in the training seminar.
It should be noted that field works of the pilot census began on October 14 and will proceed till November 4, 2012. Within this period the agricultural census questionnaires will be prepared and tested; definitive questionnaires for the 2013 agricultural census will be developed with taking into account remarks and suggestions.
