Regular meeting of the methodology Council

On May 28-29, 2012 there was a regular meeting of the methodology Board in the Statistical Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. The next mission of the international experts within the “Global Assessment (GA) of the national system of official statistics of the Republic of Tajikistan” was discussed at the meeting. In this regard, a detailed report of the head of the department of methodology and classification for quality management in the official statistics was heard.

The members of the methodology Council and the participants touched upon various aspects of quality management, primarily the basic principles of development of state statistics – relevance, objectivity, scientific validity, timeliness, reliability, impartiality, confidentiality, consistency, transparency, openness and accessibility of official statistics.

Also, in order to reduce and eliminate duplication of statistical reports and reduce respondent load, termination of forms No.3-f, No.8-f, No.9-f on Finance Statistics was addressed. The participants of the meeting suggested that the proposal should be reviewed in detail and agreed by the relevant ministries and agencies and international institutions, most notably by the CIS Statistical Committee.

The reports of the Statistical Agency experts from the Central Office and from local statistical offices based on business trips were heard.

In particular, the Statistical Agency experts, who studied the analysis, interpretation and dissemination of statistical data in Japan, made presentation on “regression, correlation analysis, descriptive statistics, time series analysis with taking seasonal adjustments into account, and general principles of the “STATA” program. Similar presentation was made to all the specialists of the Agency.
